New Iron API

Dr. Paul Lohmann® has recently developed Iron(III) Polymaltose Complex and Iron(II) Bisglycinate as active pharmaceutical ingredients. These products are available including API documentation (DMF/ASMF) for the registration of a medicinal drug at the health authorities.

Iron(III) Polymaltose Complex and Iron(II) Bisglycinate are mainly used to treat iron deficiency anemia.^{1, 2} Both Iron APIs are known for their high bioavailability and have the advantage of high patient compliance due to less side effects related to the upper gastro intestinal tract.^1,3 Moreover, there are studies indicating the application of Iron(III) Polymaltose Complex as a phosphate binder to treat hyperphosphatemia.⁴
